THE landscaping Show, Paysalia 2021, will be held from Tuesday, November 30th to Thursday, December 2nd next. The 7th edition of this trade fair brings together everyone active in the sector. The 2019 edition hosted 741 exhibitors and nearly 30,000 visitors and Paysalia 2021 sets out to do even better as a place where buyers and sellers meet to do business and chat between equals.
Co-produced with Unep, Union Nationale des Entreprises du Paysage, (The French National Landscaping Businesses Trade Association) Paysalia exists to help everyone in the landscaping sector meet new challenges and changes:
- Opening new markets (swimming pools, ecological engineering, interior landscaping…),
- Trade skills, sector attractiveness, training and enhancement of team skill levels,
- Challenges related to climate change - biodiversity, green cities…
- Adaptation to new challenges - low carbon power sources, digitalization, robotics,…
- The impact of Covid on the sector.
Paysalia will develop replies to all these questions, and others, to keep professionals informed and help them prepare the future with new perspectives
GROWTH PROSPECTS FOR THE SECTOR
Although the landscaping business fell (- 6%) in the first six months of 2020 due to uncertainty about the future and the medical crisis, it picked up again in the second half (+3%).
Overall, sector turnover dropped by 1.5% ending on a positive note, buoyed by the upswing of the private market. Prospects for 2021 are optimistic and companies are confident. 63% of companies concerned by employment envisage recruiting in the next 6 months. Paysalia contributes to these dynamics as a business generator for companies in the sector.
A RICH AND DIVERSIFIED OFFER REFLECTING MARKET DEMANDS
Thus, as people turn back to nature with a real desire to get back to basics there is high demand for green spaces. This is good for our sector and we must continue to innovate to meet the challenges facing the environment and society as a whole. Paysalia helps by highlighting these problems and suggesting opportunities for debates and “hands-on” solutions. Landscaping is changing with innovative firms, visionary landscape designers and architects and public authorities sharing the same objectives - to imagine a world more in harmony with nature to live together better today - and tomorrow. To meet new demands, Paysalia opens its doors to new sectors like swimming pools and playing fields.
PAYSALIA IS THE LEADING TRADE SHOW TARGETING EVERYONE ACTIVE IN LANDSCAPING
Themes highlighted at Paysalia 2021 To meet sector expectations and needs, Paysalia will highlight several current themes.
Today biodiversity is a major concern, following the increasing levels of social awareness about the need to protect the environment. It is plants that permit biodiversity, both as living structures and refuges for fauna. Chemical-free maintenance, alternative green space management, soil artificialization, vegetalization of urban centers and all environmental problems are the business of landscapers. Paysalia 2021 proposes solutions that work
The French Revival program, launched in 2020, boosts some landscaping markets such as forestation and ecological engineering. Urban agriculture and building vegetalization are demanded by citizens - and opportunities for the sector. Just like indoor landscaping which goes much further than rapidly-changing fashions. Paysalia 2021 will address these trends and help professionals enter these new markets.
A paramount challenge is to adequate landscape designers’ talents with what society wants. To anticipate future needs, landscaping companies will need to train their personnel in new skills. We will need to think deeply about the basics of our business (knowledge of soils, plant recognition), to meet the challenges of biodiversity and adapt to emerging innovations (robotization, dronization, digitalization) all requiring new skills. Initial and “on the job” training, recruitment, apprentice coaches… Paysalia will highlight training and employment
The 6th edition of the famous Carré des Jardiniers at the heart of Paysalia
Highlighting gardeners, the Carré des Jardiniers contest symbolizes the landscaping sector as a whole. The theme for the 2021 edition is: “A garden for (gracious) living” that nourishes body and mind – so typically French! A “must” at Lyon-Eurexpo, where you will discover the gardens of the 5 finalists and find out who wins the coveted title of Master Gardener 2021.
Even greater synergy with Rocalia
Since 2017 the natural stone Show Rocalia has shared complementary themes and organized events with Paysalia. A united event focused on plants and minerals, so visitors (private and public authorities, landscape designers and specifiers) get a global offer.
