Each new edition of Paysalia is an opportunity to decipher trends in landscape designs, equipment and technics. Among the beautiful innovations presented in 2017, here are the most noticeable garden trends!
1/ Garden furniture
Two main trends were heralded in garden furniture.
Anne Cabrol’s braided nest.
Photographers: Elisabeth Rull and Kasia Strek
Objects inspired by nature. Rounded cocoon-like shapes for an environment filled with softness. As for materials, wicker and braided resin imitating cane - strong and good-looking. Two trends used together in particular by Anne Cabrol, from Tarvel (Segex group), winner of the Carré des Jardiniers contest in 2017, with her braided “nest”.

The other trend in modern outdoor furniture is to follow ecological town planning trends which increasingly integrate plants into their designs. This means that increasingly street furniture helps restore nature to inner cities without sacrificing the modernity of their designs.
2/ Colors and shapes

Colors are very natural pastels to create warm, Zen, atmospheres. To create an energizing effect, yellow is a priority, while black is used to highlight the other colors and add a little modernity. The color pantone for 2018 is ultra-violet - purple veering towards blue - which boosts inventiveness, creativity and originality.

Modern geometrical looks are “musts” this year, with items that are easy to assemble and integrate in all gardens. The sober and original designs of this kind of furniture are easy to sell into high fashion gardens.
3/ Vertical spaces

Vertical gardens are increasingly popular as they use space in an innovative way and optimize even the smallest. This technic also makes it possible to maximize visual and sound insulation - ideal for creating a little privacy in parks and on balconies, for example. At Paysalia 2017, you admired the flexible solutions suggested by Le Mur Jardin, awarded a Paysalia Innovations trophy that year.
4/ Highlighting Exteriors!

Lighting products attracted a lot of attention at Paysalia 2019. Why? Light is used to highlight garden and building features and also to allow users to extend their use of their gardens - increasingly valued spaces.
Garden Trends: lighting effects

Designers compete to subtly introduce artificial lighting into gardens with light sources hidden in furniture or in shapes perfectly integrated into the landscape. Lighting becomes a design element contributing in its own way to the creation of atmospheres.
