There is a particularly interesting program for communities aimed at reflecting together on how to make towns greener. This is a subject that is at the heart of the show and is accompanied by many events. Enjoy it, it only happens every two years!
Green City Day immerses you in innovative landscaping
Green City Day is a flagship Paysalia trade show event for the communities and professionals who work with them. See concrete examples of how to combine urban landscape, biodiversity, and social issues.
After a conference on trees (December 7th, 10 am to 11:30 am), sip a cocktail and enjoy a convivial moment before becoming immersed in three virtual visits:
- The biodiverse plain (Bourgoin-Jallieu, Isère)
- Green schoolyards (Villefranche-sur-Saône, Rhône)
- Community gardens (Villeurbanne, Rhône)
At the end of these visits, there will be one last conference presented by Greater Lyon (3:45 pm -4:15 pm) to assess the Nature plan launched in 2021. See you on December 7th!
Expert conferences to analyze the challenges of the future
Green space managers, engineers and architects, experts from the entire sector will share their latest research, experiences and thoughts on green cities. See you at the Paysalia forum or at Agora for an educational break.
December 5th, 10:30 am - 11:30 am: the “Town of Thurin and Town of Lyon” conference will provide feedback from elected officials and a Hortis representative on green space management in cities and the urban landscape.
December 5th, 4 pm to 4:45 pm: the “How can we make our cities fertile if we have no more land?” conference will align the increasing need to make urban spaces green and the increasing scarcity of soil resources.
December 6th, 12:15 pm - 1 pm: the “Cohabitation of underground and buried networks” conference (by Plante & Cité) will focus on soil where different uses will be presented, notably along with the results of the RESEAUX program.
December 6th, 3 pm - 3:45 pm: the “Reusing wastewater: a new water resource for the landscape, leisure and sports sectors” conference (by Ecofilae) will address the need to develop this practice in light of climate changes.
- December 7th, 10:45 am - 11:30 am: the “Urban agriculture as a solution to desartificialisation” conference (by Astredhor).
Paysalia & Rocalia: ideal synergy!
What could be more natural than combining plants and stones in the urban landscape? Natural stone is a completely adapted answer to the challenges facing communities that are looking for sustainable, ecological, aesthetic, recyclable local materials.
The synergy between Paysalia and Rocalia will give you ideas for the use of natural stone in cities. Two conferences held on the Rocalia forum will show you original ways of including natural stone in urban areas.

Carré des Jardiniers 2023 is the revival of urban gardens
With the question “Biodiver’Cité: How shall we live in tomorrow’s towns?”, this year’s Carré des Jardiniers competition will focus particularly on the stakeholders of the urban landscape.
For three days, stroll through four life-size gardens, products of the abundant imagination of four landscape architects. Discover how each one suggests bringing biodiversity back to urban areas, and try to spot all the little details that make a difference. The Biodiversity and the Environment Village will also be open to visitors. Come and enjoy a moment discussing, listening to the advice of experts and participating in workshops run by landscaping professionals.
